South African DJ, Masia Mashapa, better known as The Godfather of Deep House, is making history by becoming the world’s first-ever blockchain-powered DJ. Dubbed the “Dr. Dre of House Music” The Godfather, believes that blockchain technology has the potential to dramatically change the music landscape for DJs, producers and musicians on the continent of Africa and globally. To that end, he has collaborated with North American company, PeerTracks Inc.
PeerTracks music streaming platform and the SounDAC blockchain allows the songwriters and content creators to be in control of their works. These content creators can assign royalties to their publishers, co-writers, bandmates, labels and performing rights society.
The Soundac blockchain powers the PeerTracks streaming platform with digital rights management smart contracts and royalty payments which go direct to your digital wallet.
The K-Pop music industry is looking at a different kind of streaming service for their content. A streaming service they can manage themselves where the data and royalties are transparent.
